Careers Fairs: Connecting with the Next Generation

Careers Fairs: Connecting with the Next Generation

Over recent weeks, the Frocester team has been out and about attending two careers fairs – and it has been a brilliant reminder of why getting out into the community matters.

First, we headed to the STEAM Railway Museum in Swindon for a careers fair organised by The UK Careers Fair. It was a fantastic day meeting people from a wide range of backgrounds and talking about the opportunities available at Frocester. Stephen Taylor, Curtis Wright and Olivia Dart represented the business on the day, sparking some great conversations about the real-world pathways into the fire, security, gates and barriers industry. Events like this are a great reminder of how important it is to connect with people at all stages of their careers – whether they’re just starting out or considering a change in direction.

We then attended a second event at City of Bristol College, where we had the opportunity to showcase the wide range of careers available within engineering and manufacturing, and to highlight the value of apprenticeships and practical, hands-on pathways into the industry. It was great to be part of the day alongside other local employers including NG Bailey and the Royal Navy, and to support the college in bridging the gap between education and industry. A special thank you to Margz A for hosting and organising such a well-run event.

Both days reinforced something we feel strongly about at Frocester – that investing time in the next generation of talent is not just good for our industry, it is essential for it. We are proud to play our part in showing young people and career changers alike that there are exciting, rewarding and skilled pathways available right here in their communities.
