In a year that featured a golf day, some hilly walking, a marathon, some cake munching, a glitzy team night out, and a silent auction, we’re proud to have raised more than £10,000 for our charity of the year. In February 2022, cancer care charity Hope for Tomorrow was selected as our chosen charity, with individuals from our team enthusiastically embracing sponsored events (match funded by Frocester Security), alongside business-wide fundraising initiatives that brought the whole team together. We’re proud to announce that the total raised in one year is £10,811.58.
The fundraising was kickstarted with our golf day in June, which saw 80 of our clients, colleagues, and friends compete in a round. It got us off to a great start, raising £420.40 which was match funded by Frocester for a total of £840.80. In September, our Director Iain Hompstead took on the 25-mile long Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising £1,209.89, match funded by Frocester Group to £2,419.78. Well done Iain! Hot on his heels was Brian, taking on the Forest of Dean half marathon and raising £704 in the process, match funded by Frocester to £1,408. Another great result!
Next up was our full team Christmas party, which saw us enjoy an evening of Glitz and Glamour at the Hope for Tomorrow Gala. A brilliant Silent Auction saw the team come together and add a further £6,000 to the fundraising pot, bringing the total to £10,668.58 by the end of 2022.
To round off our fundraising in the final month – February 2023 – our team pulled together to create a taste-bud tingling array of cakes for the Cuppa for Cancer Care event, raising a merry £143 to round off the total for the year to £10,811.58.
Steve Taylor, Managing Director comments “We are so proud of our team and the enthusiasm they’ve shown to make a difference to Hope for Tomorrow. Many individual members of the team have led on different aspects of our fundraising, and we couldn’t have done it without them! Hope for Tomorrow became our chosen charity because cancer is such a widespread challenge, affecting the lives of so many people in some way, including many of those at Frocester. To know that we’ve selected a charity where the money works hard and goes directly to the people and places that need it, is such an honour. Well done team!”
