The Frocester Gates and Barriers team recently partnered with a leading civils company to address a persistent issue at one of their customer sites, repeated gate damage caused by lorry traffic. The existing entrance was too narrow for frequent HGV access, resulting in costly disruptions and repairs.
The Challenge
TREATT needed a long-term, reliable solution to reduce gate damage, improve traffic flow, and maintain operational continuity on a live site. With large lorries entering and exiting multiple times per day, speed and durability were non-negotiable.
The Solution
After a thorough on-site assessment and planning phase, our team designed and installed a custom entranceway measuring 4.6 meters wide, increasing the previous width by approximately 1 meter. This involved:
- Removing all existing kerb lines
- Stripping out the previous automation system
- Reconstructing the gateway to accommodate larger vehicles
Given the size of the gates, frequency of use, and the need for rapid and reliable operation, we chose FAAC UK’s advanced gate automation solution. Specifically, we installed the MK2 Daab motor, well-known for its high performance in demanding environments.
Working on a Live Site
One key challenge was completing the installation while keeping the site live. Careful coordination and phased work allowed us to complete the project with minimal disruption to the client’s operations.
The Result
The upgraded entrance has significantly reduced the risk of gate damage, improved vehicle access, and delivered a robust, long-term solution tailored to the site’s needs.
If you’re facing similar challenges or are considering an upgrade to your current gate system, our team would be happy to help.
