Energy centres, Norwich and Bury St Edmunds
Working alongside our partner contractors MJ Electrical, we are installing an access control and security system at these energy centresFrocester Security, in conjunction with MJ Electrical, have undertaken the installation of high-end CCTV and access control systems at Crown Point (Norwich) and Place Farm (Bury St. Edmunds) at sites developed by Low Carbon Farming Ltd.
These impressive sustainable farming developments in Suffolk and Norfolk have been developed with Oasthouse Ventures Ltd and Low Carbon farming Ltd. The project was designed to create commercial low-carbon agricultural solutions within the farming industry and by capturing waste heat from local water treatment works, and by ground source heat pumps, inject the previously wasted heat into the large greenhouses.
Each location has an energy centre which powers the heat pumps that generate carbon dioxide, which is transferred to the greenhouses, enriching the atmosphere, and encouraging plant growth. The locations for both sites were carefully selected to be as close to the water treatments works of Bury St. Edmunds and the city of Norwich as possible. They cover a combined total of 70 acres of growing space and have provided a total of 330+ job opportunities to the local areas.
The project itself has been funded by the UK’s largest investor in renewable energy, Greencoat Capital, and have received widespread support from all levels of the UK government.
“We have installed a Hanwha CCTV system with Gallagher access control at these two sustainable sites. It was a pleasure to undertake this unique project and to address the challenges that come with such unusual requirements.” – Iain Hompstead, Director for Frocester Security.
“This was a challenging project but Frocester and MJ Electrical handled it admirably.
We are thrilled that our sites have been made secure and really enjoyed the experience of working with them.”
